Tom Adamson - Producer, MD, & Musician

Edinburgh born musician Tom Adamson moved from Fife to London in 2007 going on to become an honours graduate of Jazz Percussion from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (GSMD). Adamson started learning percussion in the Kinross Pipe Band at the age of 3 while also attending Edinburgh Young Musicians.

At Dollar Academy he progressed onto Drum-kit (studying with Sandy Harley), before adding Piano to his skillset (under the tuition of Euan Stevenson for Jazz, and Stewart Gibb for Classical) playing in Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra.

After leaving School Adamson simultaneously gained a HND in Music Technology at Forth Valley College and a Jazz Diploma in Piano from St. Andrews University under Richard Michael and Richard Ingham. During this time he also attended Junior Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London (Studying with Rob Farer, Malcolm Miles, Gareth Lockrane, Barry Green and Jonathan Taylor).

While at Senior GSMD he would go on to study with Richard Benjafield, Mike Skinner, David Corkhill, Andrew Bain, Trevor Tompkins, Chris Brannick, Victor Lewis, Paolo Cimmino and Ralph Salmins. Adamson has attended materclasses and lectures from: Christian McBride, Peter Erskine, Phil Markowitz, Joshua Redman, Bernard Purdie, and Keith Carlock.

Award winning performances:

As a recording session musician Tom Adamson has had the pleasure to work on 2 award-winning dramas and record for 1 award-winning App:

- The 'Play Trinity Rock & Pop App' won the BETT award in 2019 which features Adamson's Vocals on 28 of it's play along tracks.

- Drumkit for 'The Crown' (S1, Netflix), which was nominated for 3 Golden Globes in 2017, and went on to win 2 (Best Drama TV Searies & Best Actress in a Drama TV Series) and John Lithgow won an Emmy for supporting actor.

- On E4's Made in Chelsea series 5, Adamson was filmed and recorded Calling the Ceilidh dancing and performing Drumkit with the Baltik Ceilidh Band, series 5 went on to win a BAFTA in 2013.
